In 1973, Bernard-Yves Sabot arrived in Varanasi.
The city was then known as “Benares”…
He has created, against all odds, an NGO to help the poorest of the city.
Poorest among the poors, those who have absolutly nothing to hang on.
His death in 2007 saddened the whole team, who deceide to rename the association to include his name.
“Kashi BY Seva” was born.
End of 2017, a new comitee was elected. And the first wish of the new president was to rename the association as before. So, “Action Benarès” re-born, as a remember of Bernard Yves Sabot.
